Why the kit price is not the project price

A greenhouse kit can be the largest single purchase and still represent only part of the installed project. Site access, drainage, grading, a level base, anchoring, electrical service, water, heating, ventilation and interior growing equipment can materially change the final budget. The mix also changes by greenhouse type: a lightweight seasonal kit, a premium glass house and a year-round heated structure do not create the same supporting work.

It also notes that plumbing and electrical work should be performed by professionals in accordance with local requirements. Site, foundation and anchoring

A level, well-drained site matters before the frame is assembled. UGA notes the importance of greenhouse location, drainage and a suitable floor or path material. Manufacturer anchoring instructions and applicable local requirements still govern the actual installation. A catalog statement that a greenhouse includes a metal base is not the same thing as saying no foundation, leveling or anchoring work is required.
